Narrow  Depth  Slim Neodymium Testimonial Hi there! I just wanted to write and relate an experience I had this weekend with a pair of your EF-51neo components purchased from Mainstreet-Audio's Ebay CDT Store. I had mounted the NEOs in space-restricted kick panels and they were being driven by an older PPI PCX-5800 amp (a conservative 50x4 + 200x1) in my personal vehicle's SQ install. I was showing off the incredible imaging and über-smooth response to fellow installers as we took a break from Joe Wallis's Focal/Audison car that we are preparing for Finals when the amp gave up the ghost. The front left channel on the PPI crowbarred sending unyielding DC straight to the CDT's. You could literally hear the sizzle from the cone as it was happening. The stench of the CDTs "letting the magic smoke out" was unmistakable. I feared the worst. After uninstalling the speakers in question, my ohmmeter showed a flat 4 ohms throughout the woofer's excursion with no dead spots. Confused, I hooked the speaker/crossover network up to another amplifier and we were all ABSOLUTELY AMAZED. Despite the overbearing stench of singed wire epoxy and toasted Kapton, the speaker played with all of the smooth response and detailed texture that I experienced the day I pulled them out of the box. In all of my years of car audio I have never seen a speaker survive this kind of abuse and keep playing like 'day one'.
